Finally Home

We just got home last night from our fun trip. We actually went farther than what was originally planned. After spending a night in San Antonio, we drove 6 and a half hours more to get to South Padre Island where hubby's brother Chris and his wife lived. It was definitely a long trip but surely worth it! Gone For The Holiday

I will be gone on Wednesday (November 26) through the weekend to celebrate Thanksgiving holiday in San Antonio. Daughter's Sleeping Position

Laying on her stomach is my daughter's favorite sleeping position. For as long as I could remember, she has been on her stomach and she's sleeping very well. I know that with the sudden infant death syndrome, sleeping on the back is much more encouraged. But now that my duaghter has grown and that she can lift up her head completely, it doesn't me worry much.Besides, she has a firm mattress that's recommended for infant and toddlers.
Anyway, what so cute about this picture is she's sleeping with her butt up.:-)I wonder how long this one will last:-)

Miners Rescued From Philippine Mine

Six miners were trapped for a week in a flooded gold mine in the northern Philippines have been brought out alive and hopes are high that another eight who are still underground will also be rescued.

An estimated 16 people were trapped in the mine in the province of Benguet after a portion collapsed in heavy rain brought by a typhoon on Sept. 22. The bodies of two of them were found later last week.

Three miners were brought out alive on Monday and another three on Tuesday.This is truly a miracle as the survivors overcome without food nor water.

Side Sleeper,too!

HomeMade Cassava Cake

Tonight, I had a taste of homemade cassava cake. I've been craving to have it for awhile and now I finally decided to make one myself.
Cassava is grown for its enlarged starch-filled roots, which contains nearly the maximum theoretical concentration of starch on a dry weight basis among food crops.

Ingredients:

2 packages grated cassava
1 can coconut milk
1 bottle macapuno strips
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
1 can condensed milk

Mix all 5 ingredients and 2/3 of condensed milk.
Bake at 350 degrees 45 min to 1 hour
Spread rest of condensed milk on top, cook for another 5 minutes.

There, you have it, have a bite and enjoy it!:-)

Gone her newborn stage

Gone were the days when my little Cassy was just being swaddled when she had jerky movements that made her to be colicky. That was her newborn stage then and now she has turned to be mommy's cruiser and creeper.

That's my daughter Cassy stocked on her toys. She is so cute when she tries to make that face and ask for mama's help. Sometimes, she can figure it out but most of the time she needs mama. I just feel so special being needed. And I intend to be there for her whenever she needs me.

Family Get Together

My husband's folks were talking about coming over and spending time with us over the holidays. And I am definitely happy as I am looking forward to see them. They are one of the most neat families as they really have a strong bond. I admire them for even though they are far away, they do communicate with us nor to their other kids every day. I must say that communication is a big key. We try to chat with them on skype every weekend to catch up and see each other live.
Anyway, I am looking forward to see them on Thanksgiving and hopefully in the Christmas time. And also looking forward to get some time off with Cassandra since I know grandma and grandpa will keep her occupied.

It's nice to be outside!
